2. How do I use these?

Each pack comes in a ventilated zip-lock pouch that you put into your humidor. First you have to wet the packet with distilled water or humidor solution, place it back into the zip-lock pouch, and place int your humidor! 

3. How do I know when to replace the packet? 

A good rule of thumb for discarding of the packets (or pillows as some cigar enthusiasts call them) is if there is any coloured spots on the packet, if there is a slimy feel to them when refilling, or when the water pools in the zip-lock pouch/the pillow no longer absorbs water.

1. How do I re-calibrate a hygrometer? 

There is an easy way to re-calibrate a hygrometer. Simply dampen a paper towel (not soaking wet, just damp) and wrap it around the hygrometer. Let it sit wrapped up for 30-45mins. Then unwrap and quickly check the reading. If the hygrometer reading is below 100% humidity adjust the hygrometer using a calibration screw. 

2. How long does the hygrometer last? 

The Analog Hygrometers can last a very long time as they do not need batteries. The only recommended maintenance is recalibration every six months to ensure the accuracy on them is good.

3. How accurate are the hygrometers?
Analog Hygrometers might have a 5% variance/deviance from the true reading. This means that they are quite accurate however might not be the best choice for anything that requires a pinpoint control.

1. How do I use the Rock Maple Distillator?

Simply place the distillator into the stem of the pipe. The easiest way being by taking the pipe apart. Once the pipe is apart insert the side that has the metal piece into the bowl part of the pipe and slide the mouth piece over the all wooden part. 

2. How long can I use the same Distillator for? 

It can be reused for many smoke sessions. The best way to tell that it is time for a new one is when you remove it from the pipe and the rock maple has turned a dark brown colour. According to Brigham that occurs after approximately 20-30 uses. 

3. Can I wash the Distillator? 

Yes, they can be cleaned with water and left to dry before re-using; however Brigham’s studies show that washing can reduce its ability to operate effectively after this process. So it is good when you’re in a pinch, but recommended that once it has reached the dark brown colour you simply replace it. 

4. What are the benefits of the Distillator? 

This system decreases the burning sensation on the tongue ( tongue-bite), decreases the amount of contact smoke makes with the stem (easier clean up), virtually eliminates gurgle and moisture, and improves smoking characteristic of any tobacco (even the wettest of pipe tobaccos)
